Our story
Why we chose design-build
Most remodeling frustration starts in the gap between a designer's drawings and a builder's price. Plans get drawn, bids come back far over budget, and the project is redesigned, rebid or abandoned.
Keystone closes that gap. We design and build under one roof, so every line on the drawings is priced as it's drawn. You see the cost of each decision while there's still time to change it, and the team that designed your kitchen is the team standing in it on demolition day.
The name is deliberate. A keystone is the wedge at the top of an arch that locks every other stone in place. In a remodel, that's the role of a single, accountable team.

How we work
Fewer, larger projects
We take on substantial remodels rather than a long list of small jobs, so each client gets a designer and a project manager who aren't stretched thin.
Decisions before demolition
Selections, drawings and pricing are finished before construction begins. Fewer change orders, fewer delays, no guessing on site.
Respect for the house
Many East End homes are 60 to 120 years old. We match trim, keep what's worth keeping and fix what's hidden behind the walls properly.
Respect for the household
You're living next to the work. Dust control, protected floors, a tidy site every evening and a predictable daily schedule.
Clear communication
One project manager, regular updates and straight answers, including when something unexpected turns up.
Local knowledge
We know which of Jefferson County's cities, HOAs and review boards will see your plans, and we prepare for each of them.

We're based in Crescent Hill, Louisville 40206, between Frankfort Avenue and Brownsboro Road. It puts us close to the older neighborhoods we love working in and a short drive up Shelbyville Road or Brownsboro Road to the rest of the East End.
