Our services

Remodeling for the way you live

We focus on substantial projects where design, structure and finish have to work as one. Each begins with a conversation in your home and ends with a walkthrough of a finished room.

Why Keystone

One team from first sketch to final walkthrough

Design-build means the people who draw your plans are the people who build them. Budgets are set against real construction costs, selections are made before demolition starts, and a single project manager answers for every day on site.

We know East End homes: the plaster walls and Craftsman trim of Crescent Hill, the postwar Cape Cods of St. Matthews, the 1950s ranches of Lyndon, the Olmsted-planned lots of Indian Hills and Anchorage, and the architectural review boards of Lake Forest and Hunting Creek.

Designed before it's built

Measured drawings, 3-D views and a complete selections package mean the decisions are made on paper, where changes are cheap, rather than on site.

Priced honestly

Your budget is built from the actual design, line by line. You see what drives the number and where your choices move it, before you sign a construction contract.

Run by one manager

A dedicated project manager schedules every trade, walks the job daily and is the one person you call. No chasing subcontractors.

The Keystone process

Six phases, no surprises

Each phase closes with your approval before the next begins, so the schedule, budget and selections are settled before construction starts.

  1. Consultation

A walk through your home to understand how you live, what isn't working and what you want to change.

  2. Design

Measured drawings and renderings, refined with you until the plan, the budget and the details agree.

  3. Selections

Cabinetry, stone, tile, plumbing fixtures and lighting chosen with our designer, before anything is ordered.

  4. Pre-construction

Permits, approvals, ordering and a firm schedule, all settled before the first wall comes down.

  5. Construction

A dedicated project manager, protected floors and a clean, orderly site at the end of every day.

  6. Walkthrough

A final review together, every punch-list item closed, and a home that's ready to live in.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of projects does Keystone Remodeling take on?

We focus on substantial remodels: kitchens, primary bathrooms, finished basements, home additions, whole-home renovations, and garages or garage conversions. We don't take on small handyman jobs, painting or cabinet refacing, which lets us give every project a dedicated designer and project manager.

Which parts of Louisville do you serve?

Our office is at 184 N Ewing Ave in Crescent Hill, and we work across Louisville's East End and northeast Jefferson County: St. Matthews, Crescent Hill, Indian Hills, Lyndon, Hurstbourne, Anchorage, Middletown, Jeffersontown, Lake Forest and Hunting Creek in Prospect.

What does design-build mean?

One firm designs your project and builds it, under one contract. The people drawing your plans are pricing them against real construction costs as they go, so the design you fall in love with is one you can actually afford to build. You have one point of contact from the first meeting to the final walkthrough.

Do you handle permits and HOA approvals?

Yes. Jefferson County is a patchwork: Louisville Metro issues most building permits, but cities such as Jeffersontown, Prospect, St. Matthews, Hurstbourne and Anchorage add their own reviews, and communities like Lake Forest have architectural committees. We prepare the drawings and applications for each layer. Our permits and zoning guide explains how it works.

How much does a remodel cost?

Every project is priced from its own design, so we don't publish price lists. The biggest drivers are moving walls or plumbing, the condition of an older house, and the finish level you choose. Our Louisville remodeling cost guide walks through what moves a budget, and we'll give you a clear number during design, before construction starts.
